Founded in 1976 in Kerala, India, Elaf Group has grown from a small regional trader into a leading exporter of premium rice, pulses, oil seeds, spices, nuts and allied food products. Through every change in the global market, one belief has stayed constant: quality products, ethical practices and long-term relationships create lasting impact.
Today we source from the most consistent mills, farms and processors across the subcontinent, operate an integrated supply chain, and deliver to procurement teams, food manufacturers and distributors in more than 30 countries. Our work is judged by one measure — the buyer who orders again.
We exist to make the journey from Indian soil to the world's pantries shorter, safer and more transparent — for the farmer, the partner and the consumer alike.
A clear sense of why we exist, what we're working toward, and the principles we refuse to compromise on — every shipment, every relationship, every year.

Quality is not a final check — it's a chain of decisions, repeated for every consignment. Here is how an order moves through our facilities, from contract to container.
Procurement directly from audited mills, processors and farmer cooperatives across India.
Lot-level inspection for moisture, foreign matter, broken percentage and visual grading.
Cleaning, sorting, polishing and grading on calibrated lines, with batch traceability.
Laboratory testing for pesticide residue, aflatoxin and microbial limits — destination-specific.
Export-grade packaging, fumigation where required, documented and dispatched on schedule.
Sustainability is not an initiative for us — it is the long, quiet condition of staying in business for 48 years. We invest in the farms, the people and the systems we depend on.
Reducing water, energy and packaging waste across our processing operations.
Fair wages and safe working conditions across the sourcing and processing network.
Long-term relationships with suppliers who share our standards on quality and conduct.
Predictable demand for farms, predictable supply for buyers — the foundation of any food system.
We believe that what's good for the farm is, eventually, good for the buyer. Sourcing is where that belief is tested.
Direct relationships with audited mills, farmer producer organizations and processors.
Transparent pricing, prompt payments and a refusal to participate in exploitative trade.
Batch-level traceability documentation available to buyers on request.
Investment in irrigation, drying and storage infrastructure with our supplier partners.
The Elaf story began in 1976 in Kerala, on the southwestern coast of India — a small trading house with a few sacks of rice, a port nearby, and a stubborn idea: that good products and honest dealing would, eventually, be enough.
Over five decades, that idea became a company. Through monsoons and market cycles, through generations of farmers and buyers, we grew into one of India's trusted exporters of agri-commodities — keeping the same simple commitment: show up, deliver well, do it again next season.
What hasn't changed is the way we work. What has changed is everything else — our scale, our certifications, our infrastructure, and the partners we get to serve. We're proud of where we've come from. We're more interested in what comes next.
Established in Kerala as a small regional rice trader. First export shipment by year three.
Steady growth across the Middle East and Africa, with the first long-term distributor relationships.
Deeper partnerships with farmer cooperatives, mills and logistics partners. Portfolio broadens beyond rice.
ISO, HACCP and other certifications adopted. New investments in quality labs and processing infrastructure.
Expanding into specialty categories while deepening our commitment to ethical sourcing and farmer livelihoods.
Consistency across every touchpoint — from the truck on the highway to the bag on the shelf — builds recognition, trust, and the enduring relationships our business is built on.
Partner with Elaf to source agri-commodities you can plan around. We're here to help you build sustainable supply, nourish your customers, and grow a relationship that lasts.
